There are many different styles
of Nok figures, but they all date from between 400 BC and AD
200. They were primarily made from terracottas. and at this point
it is difficult to know whether the Nok styles correspond to
distinct civilizations or to different regional workshops. Moreover,
these stylistic variations are not exclusive to any particular
area.
Further field research may help
unravel the mystery of early Nigerian civilizations.
